Thanks so much, Roon-bop, for your kind and sincere words! Sam and I feel so honoured and continue to explore and get better at what we do. We wish you all the best in your photography adventures! Keep it up!
The best advice we can give to photographers who are learning and starting out is to follow your passions and be true to who you are! Go out there and practice shooting what you love. Staying in touch with what moves you is one of the things that has helped us to develop our style of photography and keeps us grounded in creating images that tell the story of each of our subjects, who they are, and how they love.
I love these ones of Kelsey and her dog, Angus, just hangin' out. They are such a perfectly matched pair!
This is her bear that she's had since birth, so it is well loved!
She doesn't normally jump on her bed, but when we gave her permission (with her dad's approval, of course!), she was a natural!
Definitely something every kid ought to do!
Kelsey, thanks for allowing us to capture you being yourself. We love your calm and sweet personality and glad we can have some fun hanging out in your world. Keep that sense of wonder and fun!
Much love,
Mary (& Sam)
The last one, Wedding Crashers, another Owen Wilson movie worth mentioning is an old one, but was recommended by clients of ours. Seeing that we are the in wedding business, they thought we had to check out Wedding Crashers, which we finally watched and it was hilarious!
Watching April with her son was unique because you can see the joy radiate from mother to son, who was so peacefully playing while mom was getting ready for her wedding day...
Sean was a true gentleman and is so supportive and caring of April. He treated her like a queen on her big day! We love the passion that they have for each other.
Then it was off to Justina McCaffrey's dress shop on sussex drive for some window shopping. We love this series of shots.
And jacket back on as the wind was bitter and winter cold that day!
We found a busy shop that was open and snuck in for a few shots. Luckily, we found a quiet corner.
Once in a while, we love a good blur and I love the emotion in this one!
While Sean was out parking the car, April actually asked these total strangers, "Excuse me, sir... have you seen a groom walking around here?"
Some of our favorite shots of the beautiful bride.
Music was performed by Dave Milliken as the couple walked down to the Beatles classics, "Here, There and Everywhere" and "Here Comes the Sun"
They said their vows and got married at Courtyard Restaurant.
And of course, what's a wedding without a cake? This yummy delicious cake is from Sentiment Wedding Cakes
April and Sean, thanks for sharing your warmth, genuine love for each other, and kind hearts with us. We love your sense of humour and attitude! We hope you guys had a wonderful and memorable experience as we did. Congrats on tying the knot!
Much love,
Mary (& Sam)
As photographers, we often get to witness the most amazing of human emotions and it is this part of our job (among others!) that we love so much.
Whether it be capturing that first look of the groom seeing his bride in her gown for the first time on the day of their wedding, or that touch between a couple in love, or that oh-so-happy look of a child freely playing, being behind the camera allows us to capture those moments as they happen. We also love being a part of these moments which is what continues to inspire us each time we take that next photo.
