A couple weeks ago, Jen and Dennis invited me out to their home in Cobden to photograph them and their family. It's not often I get a chance to meander through the Ottawa valley but after this experience, I think I'll be heading out more often. The scenery is gorgeous with it's rolling hills, swaying grass and rustic buildings. Throw in a beautiful family and an old vintage VW Beetle and you have the makings of sweet photo session.
Jen and Dennis, thanks for showing me around your neck of the woods and you're right, life is definitely better by the lake! Congrats to you both as you tie the knot, we wish you lots and lots of married bliss!

Okay, so it's better late than never, but we've finally gotten around
to a photographing our little baby girl!
(Let me clarify that... we have tons of point-and-shoot photos of her,
but none with our pro cameras.)
Baby Teagan is three months old now and fitting right into our busy family.
We worked her hard like we do all our clients :) ha ha, but she was such a good sport.
Here are a few of our favourite images.
This one was taken in our new portrait studio. We love working with the light and the clean backgrounds which is a fresh change from our on-location work.

Tuong: we typically work on location, but more and more clients are asking for indoor studio work e.g. headshots, babies, portraits, etc. We're now fully equipped with backdrops, lights and... lots of eggs :) Let us know when you and Stephen want some creative portraits and we'll gladly have you in!

We love engagement sessions that are filled with LOVE and this one we had to share! Ritika came down from Toronto to meet Naveen for their shoot and it's a well traveled route for them during their long distance relationship. She is finishing up dentistry school while he works full time. Oftentimes, their weekends spent together consisted of her studying for grueling exams while he would keep her company. They are such a warm and loving couple whom we are so privileged to know. We love how playful and yet intimate they are. So in love.
R&N: You two are rockstars in our books! Thank you so much for making our job look so easy! :) We both had such a good time just hanging out with you two. You are beautiful inside and out and we are so thankful to call you friends. Wishing you both a lifetime of love...

Pregnancies are another important event that we love documenting. So
much of life is about the busy and get-up-and-go times, but what I love
about photographing a woman's pregnancy is that it is all about the
waiting. The anticipation of an expectant newborn child is something
that is written on every woman's face (and body). It is such a
privilege for us to be there to document and tell her story, which
ultimately is a story of a couple's journey into parenthood.
Speaking of journeys into parenthood, our 3rd baby is now 2 months old and I wanted to share some images from my very own maternity session. Being in front of the camera always makes me a little uncomfortable, but as a photographer, I know how important it is to experience being on the other side of the lens. So, to all our clients... I'm with you guys! :)
Here I am, and what you all have been saying about Sam is so true. He has a way of making you feel at ease and gives you the license to be yourself, quirks and all; and yet still able to make you look and feel beautiful. And to top it all off, it was a heck of a lot of fun! :) Thanks to my awesome photographer husband, for these portraits of this amazing and beautiful time of our lives.
Of course, I had to grab the camera for a few shots of the proud daddy:

This was one of our last lifestyle sessions for the year and we were blessed to hang out with an amazing couple. Afshan and Ali are two people who in and out of their careers are so devoted to helping others, always putting others first and we love that about them. We couldn't be happier to shoot their 2-day wedding celebration and later, their "engagement" session. They wanted something different than on their wedding day, and we were thrilled that they came to us for an extra session to capture them in their element: relaxed, carefree and so in love.
Here is one favourite image that really connects with us and stirs us each time we see it. This is always a good sign for us - when it hits close to our hearts. As photographers, we never want to let it just be about the image - but we hope that through it, you see the people in it, who they are, and in some strange way feel a connectedness to the love and life they share.
